Love di tit reminded me of what firefox always used to be. Then when 3.0.10 came along, it would hang up, all the time I got so many people tired of it on my website. I was lucky to find this beta 3.5.4 now, i updated automatically to 3.5.99 and we shall see what is good and worth while. All i know is i dont want to have to go back to IE8 or any other IE. I am installing 10.5 on my mother's iMac G4 after a persistent Carbonlib library error prevented her from opening Office programs and watching internet videos with 10.4.11. I made a backup of her disk, then did a new install with Leopard and tried to get things running again. Firefox 2 was saved, Firefox 3 installed. I simply copied the ~/Library/Applications Support/Firefox/* files from backup to drive, and this worked okay for the admin-user. For a 'standard' user this failed, however. Setting permissions via the Terminal didn't solve this problem. I thus tried to export the bookmarks from the admin users to the Shared folder, and then import it again in the new account.

I am a complete Mac Noob. Infact this is my second time handling a Mac OS. Unfortunately I'm stuck with this very old LAPTOP (Mac OSx 10.4.11 - Tiger?, Intel) for awhile due to.reasons. Right now, Safari(4.1.3) and Firefox(3.6.28) are the highest this OS is allowed to run. But Youtube Comments, Disqus Comments, LiveFyre Comments refuses to load in these older versions.(and other things) Please, I need help in finding a method where I can run atleast Firefox(14+) or Safari(7.x+) or IE(10+). Can I do it through Wine or Bootcamp or something? I really do not want to install a whole Windows in VirtualMachine or something to run a simple browser.

But this didn't work, seeing the same as bulldoc described. Finally the workaround was to have Safari import the Firefox bookmark-file from the original location (~/./Firefox/Profiles/blabla/bookmarks.html), hence NOT the bookmark file that was exported by Firefox itself! Then in Safari I managed the bookmarks by cutting, copying and pasting things around so that I had what I wanted to import in Firefox 3 (although you can do this later in Firefox of course). Then I closed Safari, went to Firefox 3, found the [import HTML] option mentioned in earlier posts, and opted to import 'Safari' bookmarks. Then it suddenly looked okay (with just a little editing). Sorry for not having written a fool proof recipe, but I am still configuring my mom's G4 so pressed for time. In this week's delivery meeting, in a previous thread here, and on devnews, we announced a proposal to renumber Shiretoko (aka 'Firefox 3.1') to Firefox 3.5, before beta 4 is released. As was expected, no show-stopping problems with that proposal have surfaced, so we will be proceeding with it as the plan of record. Sam Sidler will be coordinating the required changes across the various arms of our project, so please look for posts from him with updates on the progress of the transition. Thanks to everyone for their feedback, and their help with this renumbering!

Do i need to eraser my Firefox files or something and try 3.0.2 again? If so how do i do this. Help im going really crazy. Best Answer: I have the same issue on my mac. Unfortunately, mine has been in the works since September, and it seems to be fatal in terms of whether or not I can use Firefox again without reinstalling the OS (not that important). I didn't uninstall Firefox 2 before installing 3.

Firefox only prints what's on the screen, not the whole page or frame. Safari prints the whole thing. I don't find a preference to alter that behavior. Is there one of the magic hidden about:config parameters that controls this? By the way, Firefox 2.x wasn't any different.

Click to expand. All - that means every early Intel Mac, up to those that began to ship with Lion installed - all support Snow Leopard. The OpenCL stipulation is for those Macs that can boot to 64-bit mode. Those early MacBooks do not boot to 64-bit EFI - but Snow Leopard is still compatible, just not with 100% of features. That is no different than some other technologies that are available on newer Macs, but the OS X versions that support that technology will still be compatible with a wide range of older Macs. There's nothing new about that.

Why won't the listing show the current version num. Dear Mozilla team, I have got just one question: I have seen that you talk [1] about version 3.1 of Firefox and the successing version 4.0, what about your plans to call the successor of Version 3.0 Firefox 3.5 as it was described on the figure [2] (from the roadmap wiki page: [3]) you have planned the version 3.5 to be based on Gecko 1.9.1.x Have you already decided how to call this version 3.1 or 3.5, I hope you also want to avoid the version number chaos like with the versions 1.1 1.4 1.5. I think it will be better to use the number 3.5 instead of 3.1 if it will be necessary t. As was discussed at the delivery meeting yesterday, we're proposing to change the version number of Shiretoko from 3.1 to 3.5. The increase in scope represented by TraceMonkey and Private Browsing, plus the sheer volume of work that's gone into everything from video and layout to places and the plugin service make it a larger increment than we believe is reasonable to label '.1'.

The advantage of TenFourFox is that it’s more like the modern versions of Firefox than Firefox 3.6.28 which means it’s faster and safer. However, the disadvantage is that TenFourFox does not support plugins such as Flash and Java making it unusable with some sites. TenFourFox works with both Tiger and Leopard, G3, G4 and G5 Macs and supports both HTML5 and JavaScript. Since YouTube now streams videos in HTML5 where available, this means the absence of Flash is not a problem for watching videos on the site using TenFourFox. I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.11 'Intel,' TenFourFox doesn't help with that. I'm stumped---or did Firefox move the Export function to some hidden location in the browser? Also, does anyone know what file would contain the bookmarks information so I can try saving the information from there? Because my old Mac's Firefox version will not work on Leopard, I downloaded and installed Firefox 3.0. The 3.0 install would not recognize any bookmarks to import into itself except from Safari. To get around this I installed my HTML export of my old Firefox 2.0.0.14 bookmarks into Safari and then had Firefox 3.0 upload them.

Are you geniuses to allow the thing to install where it is not welcome? Plus, if you try to submit a comment on the Firefox page, it says you have to do it FROM the firexox brower.

I am aware of the bug that was in friefox 3 and 3.0.2 but i still cant get the others to work. Even worse i canot get an old version of firefox to work (Firefox 2). I thought it might be my memory so i bought a gig and a half more memory and no luck.
