I just downloaded this app but it doesn’t seem to be completely desktop based????? Can’t tell because my internet is back up. I just wanted to give this feedback, because I really love everything that Celtx has to offer. Cloud-based programs are great, but if would be even greater if we had desktop versions as backup for when the internet is unavailable.

Laaren11 Miss The Old Desktop Version I recently got a Mac (regretfully but that’s another story) and because I don’t like the other desktop screenwriting software out there I’ve been using Celtx Cloud screenwriting - which is great but I still like the old desktop version better. I am using Celtx screenwriting not because it’s free, but out of preference. The thing is, there’s nothing worse than being in the flow of creating when the internet goes out.
DramaQueen will work to, but i don’t like it (a personal thing, don’t worry. The Program is fine if you will work with it.) •. It destroyed such a wonderful community when Celtx closed the forum and went all glossy. Thank you so, so much for this post. It’s not all about whether people can afford to pay. You get what you pay for, and for the price, with it’s essential features, it's a godsend compared to other screenwriting apps. However, the functionality is plagued with a bug other reviewers are commenting about with respect to app crashes. About an hour after purchasing, the app crashed and upon reopening, I couldn’t even delete a single letter without the app crashing again. A note to Celtx, Inc: please fix this. The updated design, essential screenwriting functions, and price are perfect, but this bug is quickly making me reconsider the purchase. If a fix can’t come soon enough, I recommend their cloud/online platform.

I can’t thank you enough for this. I had Celtx and used it on a couple of projects, then focused on illustrating for a few years. I had an idea for a project that I wanted to start on right away and found that the Celtx app was no longer on my computer. The support files (empty) were still on my laptop, but the primary app was gone. I don’t know if Celtx somehow deleted it (I don’t see how, but one never knows for sure), but long and short it was no longer there. As you said, they’re all cloud now, but there are times when I want to work on a project without the annoyance of bouncing back and forth from my MS Word notes and outlines to Firefox.

Are you making a computer program or a screenwriting software.

Celtx Script Writing
If you love Celtx as a whole too, you’re better off saving the painful hassles by just getting a laptop fitted for Celtx. Zombie hunter 28 Yes to the desktop, no to the mobile I appreciate everything this program has done for me. The four star is for the entire program as a whole, however the same cannot be said for the mobile programs. For one there isn’t an app that includes all of them in one thing, and for some reason they had a feature that includes novels which is only shown in the “desktop” version but seldom mentioned in the mobile program. Some controls for it can be finicky and can get you into some trouble if you’re not careful enough. Worst of all if you’re not careful with this, you could lose a significant amount of progress in a short amount of time. I feel like that these apps are poorly managed as they are not properly adapted to the latest version seen in the “desktop” variation.
Another aspect that bothered me about the app is the frustrating interface while using the app. It’s hard to navigate, clunky and not particularly interesting to look at. Even if my goal isn’t to make professional screenplays, I would still like more ease of use when writing in this app.

I like the concept, I like a lot of the tools available to me but it’s still a huge disappointment. Jessie Tomahawk So much potential I wanted to like this app a lot more when I first came across it but it’s been really hard to. For one, the most particular annoying part is that I keep getting signed out and when I put my info in, I’m told it’s the wrong password or email. I changed my password too even though I really only use one password for some apps. After the change, I decided to come back to the app and again I got the info wrong message again.
Solution: The Celtx profiles folder on your computer may have become corrupted, preventing 2.0 from installing properly. Try deleting the Celtx profiles folder; a new profiles folder will be created during Celtx 2.0 installation. Steps to delete your Celtx profiles folder: Mac • Quit Celtx. • Navigate to: /Home/Library/Application Support/ • Delete the 'Celtx' folder. • Restart Celtx. Windows XP • Quit Celtx.
